New Contest Idea

Hey Folks

I've got this idea I want to make part of failpire. Something along the lines of 48 hr film fest. Where teams are given a few details and challenged to make a video from it in a short period of time. I'm actually thinking Sunday night Thursday night at some point. So basically 4 days.

I'm currently looking for Locally based teams in LA, but I anticipate having this whole thing open to some web based teams as well. So right now I just need a head count to people interested in doing this.

This is all really just to be in good fun and inspire people to produce things. There's no entry fee or big prizes to get competitive over, it's just about making the best piece out of the project given.

Locally I'm asking that the teams be 2 or more people. I'd like to put the same demands on the web folks but it does seem like it'd be harder to ask for proof.

you can already start throwing in your own ideas for things the contestants may have to use in their videos!

More About How It Would Work

Much like the 48hr film fest, all the teams would receive a few common perquisites for their short. These being determined at random picked LIVE from audience suggestions (though I may also make mine own)

Each team will then also draw from a hat a wild card that only their team must use.

At this point I'm thinking the shorts should be between 3 and 7 minutes.

Again the drawing would be made LIVE on a special Sunday version of my show (most likely held in my apartment in Hollywood)

And teams would have till something like 11:59 pm Thursday night to get me the finished video.

at this point all these concepts may change of course.
But if you're here and you've read this far, make sure to register an account here on failpire.ning.com because this will be the Hub for the contest - videos will all be hosted here, etc.

I'm thinking of doing two votes, one from a panel of judges and a popular vote from the viewers.

Cool man. I'm gonna shot for doing it first week of September. (like giving out the first mission the weekend after next). YIKES that's soon.

I just need three LA teams to get it going.

I don't have anything in regards to a team. The last time I tried to team up with YT'ers for a video it was an epic fail. Would this be a problem if I wanted to participate?

Like I said before, I'm not sure if I can hold the eBased contestants to the same standards as the Los Angeles based "live" teams. So it may not matter..

My goal is to try and encourage people to work locally with friends where they are to do this, not try to collab with people across the globe. - if you want to collab globally goto Castingtube ;)
